Riverbend Robotics

By Aldona Valadka, Riverbend Elementary

On February 4, 2006 nine grade five & six students from Riverbend Elementary competed in the First Lego League Provincial Competition in Edmonton. Under the guidance of Roy Nelson, Volunteer Lego Enthusiast & Robotics Expert, and Riverbend teachers, Michele Henderson and Aldona Valadka, these students won first place for “Best Robot Design and Performance” and second place for “Best Research and Presentation”.

We were very proud of the way our students demonstrated teamwork, problem solving skills and tremendous enthusiasm; especially because we were competing against 36 other teams, many of whom were from junior high.

Congratulations Riverbend Robotic Raccoons!!!
