Young Writers Conference

The annual Calgary Young Writers Conference once again took place at Crescent Heights High School on Saturday April 29 2006.

This conference has made a significant contribution toward the promotion of literary excellence during its 24 years of operation.  It is the largest conference of its type in North America.  This year over a thousand  CBE students from grades four to nine attended workshops offered by 52 writers. The keynote speaker this year was the celebrated Canadian author J. Fitzgibbon McCurdy, author of "the Serpents Egg"'.

The conference was facilitated by volunteers and is mostly self supported but does have some sponsorship from The ATA Local #38 and Indigo Books.
