Scholarships

 

Calgary Public Teachers, ATA Local 38 maintains three annual scholarship programs.

Please note, all Scholarship Application forms open February 1 and close May 31. 

LGBTQ2S+ Scholarship

The application deadline for the LGBTQ2S+ Scholarship for 2021 has been extended to 2021 June 30.  

 The purpose of this award is to provide financial assistance to a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Two-Spirited (LGBTQ2S+) student or ally to further their education at an accredited postsecondary institution. 

One scholarship is awarded each year.

Deadline for receipt of applications is May 31 of the application year. The successful applicant is required to complete a Post Secondary Enrolment Certificate (above) and submit it electronically by 11:59pm on September 15 of the application year. 

 

Local 38 Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes students of outstanding merit whose parent/guardian is a current, retired or deceased member.

The number of scholarships awarded each year depends on the number of applicants.

Deadline for receipt of applications is May 31 of the application year. Successful applicants are required to complete a Post Secondary Enrolment Certificate (above) and submit it electronically by 11:59pm on September 15 of the application year.


The John Laurie Scholarship

The John Laurie Scholarship recognizes an indigenous student with outstanding merit in the Calgary Board of Education each year.   

One scholarship is awarded each year.

Deadline for receipt of applications is May 31 of the application year. The successful applicant is required to complete a Post Secondary Enrolment Certificate (above) and submit it electronically by 11:59pm on September 15 of the application year.
