Little Schools Make Big Differences

By Julia and Keeley (Grade 5 Students)

On the wonderful, but soon to be fateful day of December 26th, 2004, in the area of the Indian Ocean, there was a terrible tsunami.  This natural disaster destroyed homes and killed thousands of innocent people.

Many schools around the world found different ways of raising money for the victims.  Earl Grey Elementary was one of these helpful schools.  To raise money, this little school held a talent show starring the Grade 5 & 6 students.  Nearly all of the senior students joined in on the action.  When the money was collected and counted, the total was over $2,200.00.  This great amount was achieved by students earning money by doing chores around their houses.  We hope that this money will help the suffering victims.
