Our Project

In January, we coordinated a fundraiser on behalf of our school to aid the victims of the December 26, 2004, Tsunami.

Students in our class visited all other classes in the school to discuss this terrible tragedy and explain how we as a school community could come together to make a difference.

Following our classroom discussions, notices were sent home with students to kindly ask for donations to this cause. Our school family was able to raise over $5,000.00, and we think this is tremendous.  A representative from the Red Cross visited McKenzie Lake School on March 1, 2005, to accept the donation.

We are very thankful to the families of our school for being so kind and compassionate.  We are sure that our contribution will make a difference in the lives of those who have been affected.
