Local 38 Teachers Ratify Memorandum of Agreement with CBE

At a meeting of the Bargaining Unit on 2018 February 28, Calgary Public Teachers ratified a memorandum of agreement on local table matters reached with the Calgary Board of Education by a margin of 81.2% in favour to 17.2% opposed.

The next stage in the ratification process involves the Memorandum of Agreement being sent to the CBE Board of Trustees for consideration. It is currently scheduled to be voted on by that group on 2018 March 20.  If ratified by the CBE Board of Trustees, the new collective agreement becomes effective immediately thereafter.  For the period 2018 February 28 through till 2018 March 20, the previous collective agreement (dated 2012 September 1 through 2016 August 31) remains in force.
