Insurance Considerations
Insurance Considerations
The ECC will send an employer statement to ASEBP at the 30
th
day duration of a sick leave.
The EHRC will confirm with ASEBP that the employer statement has been received by ASEBP.
ASEBP will send the disability package to the employee. In the case of employees covered by Sunlife, ECC will send the disability package.
The employee completes and submits the forms as required for disability benefits to ASEBP or Sunlife.
The insurance carrier advises the employee and EHRC of the acceptance or denial of benefits via email and letter.
In the event the employee is approved for disability benefits, the EHRC will send a status change request to ECC. The EHRC will send a memo to the employee indicating EDB / LTD status change, and this will be copied to:
The Principal / Supervisor
Talent Management
In the event the employee is denied for disability benefits or had their benefits terminated, the employee should consult with their Association / Union and the EHRC.
