Benefits During Job Action
Benefits During Job Action
SunLife and Blue Cross Benefits should continue to remain active during any periods of job action
Submit claims to the relevant benefit plan in the same manner as you would outside of job action.
The
Telus Health EFAP (Employee & Family Assistance Program)
will remain active during job action.
There may be a delay in processing time for claims.
Should job action involve a large portion of October, teachers may need to make declarations about their HSA vs PSA allocations very quickly upon a return to work. Reminders/notifications may not be sent from the employer to do this. Prioritize this decision as soon as access to PeopleSoft becomes available.
Your ability to add/update dependents during job action (e.g., after having a baby) will be limited due to removal of PeopleSoft access during job action. Prioritize making these changes as soon as job action is complete. You may need to call the CBE Employee Contact Centre (403-817-7333) for assistance with this if job action was longer than one month in duration.
